TC Electronic – is a Danish company that was founded in 1976 by two musician brothers Kim and John Rishøj. One of their legendary rack-mount processors was dynamic digital delay TC2290 (released in 1985). Two TC2290s alone with Eventide Harmonizers made the core of Robert Fripp’s Soundscape system.

In August 2015 TC Electronic was purchased by Behringer… a company that is known for aggressively cheap and highly unreliable equipment. I do hope it had no impact on the quality of TC’s products. I personally own several Behringer items and most of them had quality issues that could or could not be fixed.

These are the products of TC that I would take into consideration first of all.

  • G-System - Ultimate floor-based guitar multi-effects processor and management tool with customizable setup and effect pedal integration. This system looks very attractive because it is really powerful and has 3 loop to use your favorite third party pedals in the chain.
  • Nova System - Exceptional compact floor-based processor for guitar effects with 6 FX blocks, analog drive and flexible operation.
  • Flashback Triple Delay - This is my favourite pedal made by TC Electronic because it has 3 independent delay engines that can work simultaneously, in series or in parallel. 11 rhythmic patterns to each delay. Tap tempo. MIDI sync. TonePrint.
  • Flashback X4 Delay - 12 delay types and 4 spaces for TonePrint delays. 3 preset footswitches to swap between delays. Tap tempo. Looper. MIDI sync.
  • Hall Of Fame 2 Reverb - This stereo pedal is very popular among Ambient guitarists. 8 studio quality reverb types, including Shimmer, and 3 TonePrint slots. MASH technology turns footswitch into a pressure-responsive expression controller.
  • T2 Reverb - "10 exclusive reverb effects handcrafted by reverb experts at TC ELECTRONIC and ProGuitarShop developed with the ambient guitarist in mind". Stereo. TonePrint.
  • Ditto loopers - There are 4 loopers in Ditto line. I would point your attention on these stereo pedals: Ditto Stereo Looper - 1 loop, 5 minutes of looping time with unlimited overdubs and undo/red, Import / Export to PC / Mac option; Ditto X4 Looper - 2 loops, two 5-minute independent loop tracks with serial and sync modes, 7 versatile loop effects, Import / Export to PC / Mac option, MIDI sync.
  • PolyTune tuners - You should have seen those tuners on every second pedalboard I guess…
  • G Major 2 / G-Force - If you build a rack these processors will surely fit.
  • TonePrint App - TonePrints (custom presets by famous guitar & bass players) can be downloaded from the TC website added and uploaded to the pedal via a mini USB socket (in case your pedal has such an option).
