EarthQuaker Devices is located in Akron, Ohio, USA. The company of ”50+ proud guitar nerds, a bunch of bearded dudes, and a couple ladies» lays down it’s creed as: “effects pedals should be simple and user-friendly, with lots of practical, useable, and musical sounds, but should also be a launchpad for sonic exploration and aural innovation".

In accordance with the company’s creed all their pedals work fine for creative sound research. These pedals were made not only to be lush and decent effects, but to become great experimental tools too.

I would primarily place emphasis on these devices:

  • Avalanche Run - stereo reverb & delay with tap tempo. Avalanche Run was developed with one goal in mind: to take the floating ambient tones of our Dispatch Master to the next level while still keeping it user friendly and refined. The delay time control goes from 0ms to just under 2000ms. Ratio Selector Switch to choose from 6 time subdivisions. In Normal and Swell mode, you can send the Avalanche Run into self-oscillation by holding down the “Tap” foot switch. In Reverse, mode holding down the Tap switch will flip the delay back into Normal mode and return to Reverse mode once released.
  • Disaster Transport SR - advanced modulated delay & reverb machine. The Disaster Transport SR is a dual delay with reverb and modulation. It was designed to create an intense wash of lo-fi swirling tape styled echo. Delay A is a 600ms delay with modulation and delay B is a 300ms delay with reverb. Both delays can be run separately, in parallel, in series or in series/parallel. The Disaster Transport SR can also be used to create a wide variety of wild sounds ranging from warped records, clanging flange, smooth chorus, echoed out squalls and various other-worldly effects that will blow your mind.
  • Afterneath - otherworldly reverberator. The Afterneath is a reverberation machine that uses a swarm of short delays to create wild and cavernous reverbs and scattered, short rhythmic delays with bizarre characteristics. The reverb created is beyond massive and goes well beyond the territory of most reverb pedals. The controls allow you to stretch, smudge, swell and even self-oscillate into messy ambient washes of sound [1].
  • Data Corrupter - modulated monophonic harmonizing PLL. It takes your input signal and brutally amplifies it into a crushing square wave fuzz tone that is then multiplied, divided and modulated to create a wild, yet repeatable, three-voice guitar synthesizer.
