Strymon grew out from Damage Control in 2009. Being a small company they managed to become one of the most respectful manufacturers of the professional guitar equipment. Most of their pedals are "must have" for any serious guitarist. Exceptional quality, crystal clarity and versatility. Strymon is realy a client-focused company and that’s a thing I personally appreciate a lot.

Those seem to be the most in-demand pedals by Strymon among ambient, drone and soundscpe performers:

  • TimeLine - This is my #1 in the world of guitar pedals! Amazing stereo delay machine with a built-in 30-second SEAMLESS stereo looper. 12 fully adjustable delay modes, MIDI control, 200 presets, expression pedal control, feedback loop etc.
  • DIG - Two simultaneous, integrated delays. One modern and two classic digital delay voicings: 24/96, adm, 12 bit. Five rhythmic subdivisions: Triplet, Eighth, Golden Ratio, Dotted Eighth, Dotted Quarter. 20ms – 1.6s delay range (40ms – 3.2s with Half Note Delay 1 Subdivision)
  • El Capistan - Hand crafted dTape algorithms deliver meticulously nuanced recreations of tape echo systems. Three tape machines in one: Fixed (one fixed playback head), Multi (multiple playback heads), and Single (sliding record head). El Capistan has a Sound on Sound mode which is actually a kind of built-in tape-style looper with 20 seconds of tape in slow speed, 10 seconds in fast speed. Not much you might think... Well yes, but I've noticed that 90% of my loops hardly exceed that 10 second limit… BUT El Capistan does real magic with all of the tone shaping knobs being active and affecting the loop as it plays back and re-records.
  • Mobius - Studio-class modulation algorithms deliver meticulous and detailed modulation experiences. Twelve modulation machines. MIDI control, 200 presets, expression pedal control and more. Personally I seldom use modulation effects like flanger, phaser and chorus. It’s a matter of taste – nothing more. If you are looking for a good all-in-one modulation pedal – Mobius is what you need.
  • BigSky - This pedal is on the 2 place in the list of my favorite equipment. I used to work with several very expensive hi-end studio reverbs like Bricasti M7. Believe me, BigSky holds the front! With the cost of USD 475… 12 hand crafted, studio-class unique reverb algorithms: Room, Hall, Plate, Spring, Swell, Bloom, Cloud, Chorale, Shimmer, Magneto, Nonlinear, Reflections. 300 presets, Press-and-hold Infinite Sustain and Freeze functions, MIDI control, feedback loop. And apart from everything else it has a superb Cab Filter emulating 12-inch guitar cabinet which I use a lot when recording or playing in line.
  • BlueSky - A compact pedal for those of you who don’t need all 12 reverb modes of BigSky. Hand crafted, computationally intense Plate, Room and Spring algorithms. Normal, Mod and Shimmer modes per algorithm, Pre-Delay control to fine tune reflection times.
